The workshop has been buzzing with activity as we juggle tasks for both Purdey and Priscilla. With Purdey still in the capable hands of Safety Devices for her custom roll cage, the focus was on “Priscilla” – some well-deserved attention while making plans for the next stages of our rally preparation.
Priscilla’s new rock sliders were the first order of business this week. After modifying brackets to accommodate her side-exit exhaust and reinforcing her panels to eliminate long-standing vibrations, the team managed to get them installed. Small victories, but satisfying ones nonetheless!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a week in the workshop without some unexpected discoveries—like the failed seal on Priscilla’s rear axle, which has been busy coating her brake pads in oil. On top of that, her finicky reverse light and temperamental wiring have kept us occupied, proving that even veteran rally vehicles like Priscilla have their quirks.
Meanwhile, exciting updates came in from Chris at Safety Devices, who shared progress on Purdey roll cage. The structure is taking shape, with mounting points, main hoops, and bracing bars coming together. It’s incredible to see Purdey transformation as she gets one step closer to being rally-ready. Once completed, the roll cage will be coated, refitted, and prepped for her next stage of upgrades.
This week, we also got a glimpse into the Dakar Classic 2025, watching Land Rovers battle through 4,500 miles of grueling off-road stages. The footage was a humbling reminder of the challenges ahead—and the level of preparation required to reach that start line in 2026.
With Purdey spending another week at Safety Devices before moving on to Demand Engineering, we’re looking forward to seeing her roll cage completed and ready for the next step of her rally evolution.
As we inch closer to the Santana Trophy in just 96 days and the Dakar Classic looming on the horizon, the clock is ticking, and the work is relentless—but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
